Looking to shed weight safely?
What if I told you the secret of weight loss is just a mathematical equation. If you burn more calories than you take in, you lose weight, if you consume more calories than you work off, you gain it. So here is the math:
There are 7,700 calories in a kilogram of fat, which is a scientific fact. To take one pound of fat off of your body you need to do one of the two things or a combination. One must burn an extra 7,700 calories from what you ingest to lose a kilogram of fat or find a way to cut out 7,700 calories. Exercise and balanced diets will do this for you.
Speaking of exercise, here is the math:
• Walking for an hour burns 200-250 calories approx.
• Bicycling for an hour burns 500-600 calories approx.
• Swimming for an hour burns 500-550 approx.
Now let’s get to the food part:
Substituting low-calorie foods for high-calorie ones will do magic:
• Fat-free milk: 80 Cal
• Whole Milk: 160 Cal
• Meat: >200 Cal
• Vegetable: <100 Cal
Between fat-free milk and whole milk, there is a difference of 80 calories. If you make a few small adjustments in your diet, you can easily shave off 600 calories a day. If you go for a 60-minute jog or run and burn 600 calories, it’s going to be thirteen runs before you lose a kilogram. If you find a way to cut out 600 calories from your diet, it will be another thirteen days until you lose one kilogram. Put those numbers together, and in seven days you are down one kilogram of fat. Whole eggs, leafy greens, cruciferous vegetables, beans, and legumes are some weight-loss friendly foods; add them to your diet.
The math is easy, changing your routine is tough. It’s the hard part but you must do it!! Set your goals and stay focused.
